3 Tips For Saving Money At Your Favorite Restaurant

Posted on: 14 June 2016

If you are like most people, a hot sandwich or a slice of pizza is a popular meal when you are in a hurry at the end of a long day. However, it is all too easy for a quick meal a couple of times a week to turn into a hundred dollars or more over the whole month. If you do not want to give up on the convenience and taste of a quick meal from your favorite pizza and sandwich shop but you would love to save a few dollars while doing so, the following tips will be very helpful.

#1-Assess The Cost Of A Whole Pizza

If you get a slice or two of pizza twice a week, there is an excellent possibility that you are paying more over the course of a few days than you would for a whole pizza. Of course, you would also be getting less pizza by paying per slice as well. Instead, plan to order the whole pizza on Monday and make a concentrated effort not to return to the facility until the pizza is gone.

Alternatively, you can start the cycle on another day of the week if you are fortunate enough to discover that whole pizzas are on sale then.

#2-If You Are Getting Food To Go, Never Buy A Drink There ...Or Don't Pay More Than You Should

The profit made off of a soda or tea is astronomical when compared to the cost the restaurant paid for it. Although many people will tell you to drink water, you can still enjoy a tasty drink with your meal. Just remember to always order your food to go and keep drinks at the office or drink what you already have at home.

Another option to consider is the purchase of a loyalty cup. Many restaurants will allow you to buy their plastic cup and enjoy discounted refills. If you keep it in your car, you never have to worry about not having it nearby and you could easily make back the cost of the cup by your second or third return visit to the facility.

#3-Go For The Lunch Specials

If you have flexibility as to when you can eat out, it is a good idea to try to make it lunch instead of dinner. That is because many places will offer the same or slightly smaller portions for a lower cost at lunch than they will at dinner. Whether you are just getting a sandwich and fries or you are choosing a meat and a veggie, lunch plates are often less expensive than dinner plates will be. Saving even a few cents a day is never a bad idea.

In conclusion, the cost of a quick lunch from your favorite local restaurant  can quickly add up by the end of the month. When you need to stay on budget and you have no desire to give up your favorite quick meals, it is a good idea to consider the above advice.
